What Customers Say About Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse: A Novel of the Turbulent Near Future (Expanded and Updated 33 Chapter Edition):

If you do not have a survivalist mentality, you will after you read this book. "The AR-15 semi-auto. I spent the next several weeks, if not months, figurng out what I would do in the face of circumstances similar to those presented in this page turner. It is even more scary in the light of our current economic climate.it was a little too descriptive at times. blah blah blah.with a compass in the stock and a thing that tells time, can take down 5 men with two three shot bursts". But other than that it was a good read and will make you start stock-piling canned goods and spend a few weekends at gun shows.

If you think of it as an easy read survival manual then it's a great because it's an easy read with plenty of ideas. It's literary value is nil. For example, there is a jarring multicultural passage tossed in seemingly as an afterthought, and some commie cannibals that are hilarious. (Not that commies and pinkos are unlikely cannibals, they certainly like to feed on the productive, but really). The book is worth reading for the ideas/concept in it.

These chicks clean guns, waste looters, and sew up gunshot wounds all in the name of the Lord, plus they don't mind spending beaucoup bucks on remodeling the home with a bulletproof front door and shutters. I really wish I had read some of the reviews before buying this book. Let's just say that "Patriots" couldn't have been any more different.Like others have said, the characters were wooden and trite. I'd also like to know what type of women Rawles hangs around, because the ones depicted in his book are unlike any women I've ever known. However, as straightlaced as Rawles must be, there's no way he'd create a gay survivalist.I could keep going, I really wanted to like this book, but in the end I think Dale Gribble leapt off my TV and wrote "Patriots". Not to spoil the plot for anybody, but there's a character who gets hit with a gut shot and his intestines spill out.

Another college kid who hasn't even finished ROTC gives a full dissertation on the 5 ways to disable an M1A1 Abrams Tank. I had just finished reading "World War Z" and wanted to read a different type of apocalypse novel. The plot was pretty fantastic as well, a group of college kids get together and decide to form a survivalist organization.they document Standard Operating Procedures and membership rules WHILE IN COLLEGE. What do you think somebody would say in that situation. Probably something a little more edgy than "Oh Crud.". The TK character really disturbed me as well, I think that guy had to be gay, he's a catholic youth minister who turns down the advances of a gorgeous woman who tries to use her body to get some firewood off the guy.

Anything you need to find in a real life situation is in there. The man really knows his stuff.

If you are a fan fan of Rawles this is a must have. I first heard of Patriots before the reprint and was very interested.

This book is awesome. The detail that Rawles goes into in this book is incredible.

As soon as I opened the book I was hooked. I don't think I put the book down for two days.

Also the way that glossary is set up is wonderful. This book is a great read and a survival manual in one.

This book is good, if you can get past the overly-christian theme. regardless.the characters, lacking any combat experience, definitely don't lack experience with praying.they do it all the time. it's very apparent that the author was in the military, but has zero relevant combat experience. had he experience in serious urban warfare, he'd know not to give all the characters "colt.45s", haha.being that colt is by and far the least reliable of all 1911 models, and 45 ammo is heavy, with minimal performance. that's probably a good idea when you're only armed with colt-brand firearms. :)
